Well this was pretty easy. I found a few books by this author Malcolm Gladwell. I guess he writes a lot of non-fiction. I’m always fascinated by people’s stories and am always curious about how much of a person’s life is choice and how much is their destiny. I love what I call “happy accidents”, although I don’t believe in “accidents”. I also find it interesting how a person’s experience shapes their view of the world.
That being said I wanted to check out “Outliers” which talks about people and how things beyond who there are, like their culture, their generation, and their upbringing have influenced them. It had holds so I got on the list with no problems.
Instead I downloaded “the Tipping Point” by the same author which had no holds. It was talking about how one small idea, trend, or person can spread like wildfire. Thought it was an interesting concept. I downloaded the software and book with no problems. I have to say though I’m not a fan of the e-books. I love the feel of holding a physical book in my hands and turning the pages and feeling the texture of the paper. There is something gratifying about it that I don’t get from clicking a mouse on a computer. Even if I had one of those “kindles” it still wouldn’t be as nice, although the portability of it would be much better.

Well I ‘m a little late with the Christmas well wishes but thought I’d say something for the New Year. If it has been the same for you as many people I know and love, let’s just say 2009 has been a hard year. But I believe life is cyclical and that there are down seasons and up seasons. 2009 I would have to say has been down so I’m very hopeful for 2010 to be up.
So this is my prayer in 2010 for each and every one of you…
-May your life experience a lot of wonderful “suddenlys” that surprise you with good news and very little of the “suddenlys” that keep you awake at night.
-May love chase you down the street, tackle you, and wrap it’s comforting arms around you when you need it most.
-May your cup overflow and you be blessed beyond measure (and I’m not just talking financially) although that is nice too.
-May you wake up everyday with great expectation that the things you have been hoping really aren’t that difficult to come to pass.
-May you get at least one step closer to that dream that you’ve been holding in your heart.
Love to all…

Well as most of you know I’m out at Orchard Mesa now, although I think I still will be working at Central every other Thursday or so, so I will still see you once in a while which I’m happy about. I just wanted to say how much I’m going to miss seeing all your beautiful faces on a day to day basis.
Know what great affection I hold in my heart for all of you…and thank you for all the fun I’ve had working with you guys. I was never bored, that is for sure!

Dearest Carol,
You have been the best “momma” to the library. Thank you for always protecting us, taking care of us, and feeding us well.
Hope you know you are loved and will truly be missed…
Love ya,

This actually was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. I think the best part was reading all the blogs. I loved everyone’s wit and humor. Made me laugh.
I think my favorite task was making the easy website with weebly. It was, in a way I think a chance to express the things I’m the most grateful for. It was something I never would have thought about doing on my own.
All the different websites were great to know about too. I made a list of them for my future reference.
Thank you to Nancy and Cari for all the work they put into this. I know I really learned a lot.

Yummy… liked the Tastespotting blog. Now I’m hungry!
As far as recommending anything, I’m not much of a websurfer so I’m just familiar with the well known websites and the ones you have recommended during webolution. I don’t follow any blogs either.

Well I’m a bit of a purist when it comes to photography (my inner design snob voice is coming out) so I tend to think that the true beauty of a photograph is more from the composition and subject matter, not from using all these fancy filters, although I do like the sepia and black and white filters to give a photo a more aged or classic look or feel. So I’m not a big fan of the photo editing websites and the pre-made templates, although I do like the silly names they give some of the filters on Picnik like Holga-ish or Gooify. I do think it is very good for a quick posting of photos and very user friendly.
That being said, as many of you know I recently got my kitty Woogie fixed. Bad news for him is he lost his little pom-poms, so he doesn’t have much to cheer about. Good news for me is I’ve decided to make him an indoor kitty. It’s amazing how the simple act of bringing him indoors has made my love for him grow 10 fold in such a short period of time. What gets me the most (big cheese ball that I am) is watching the relationship between him and my dog Moxy. This little cat is relentless in his pursuit of affection for my dog and is constantly trying to rub against her and cuddle with her and follow her. My dog responds by immediately bolting or barking, basically to tell him to leave her alone. It truly is a big sister, little bratty brother relationship. I’ve been highly amused lately. What’s funny is at the end of each day they usually end up sleeping inches apart from each other. So adorable I just can’t stand it.
So anyway, this task is dedicated to you, my little Woogster….

I went to the Mesa County Website and looked around and I was very pleased to see that a new animal services shelter was being built. I have to admit I’m not much of an information junkie so I don’t keep up with the latest on a lot of things so it was nice to discover that little tidbit of news.
I went to the State of Colorado website and looked around at all the outdoor and recreational information they had available. I know someday I’ll get around to exploring Colorado. One of the main reasons I moved here was for the outdoor beauty, so when I’m ready this ought to come in handy.
I’ve used some of the other government websites like the trademark and copyright for my business and the irs sites for taxes and such so I’m familiar with some of them already so it’s nice to have a little refresher on where to go for research.

Well I love the remix of Dean Martin’s song “Sway” that is on the Chrysler 300 commercial that has been running recently. I found the link on u-tube and converted to a Tiny URL. Here is the link:
http://tinyurl.com/yls5y5r
Think this is a good thing. I’m not quite sure what I’d use it for, but it’s good to know it’s available.
Went to Zamzar and tried to convert the same url of the video (both the tiny and the original versions) into mpg but for some reason it would not allow me to. Maybe just the computer I’m using? Humm….
